System Integration

There is a general consensus among industry analysts, consultants, and systems integrators that there are three primary skills a successful systems integration company must possess. Those skills are program management, systems engineering, and subcontractor management. And Drakes & Associates offers all three.

Foremost among those skills is program management. Program management is a complex task that requires expertise in business management and technical disciplines. Successful program management is based upon an organized and structured methodology. This methodology is supported by a set of effective and proven tools which plan, integrate, and control various discipline such as systems engineering, hardware and software development, systems integration and testing, logistics, quality assurance, contracts management, and finance.

Embracing Change

Successful businesses survive constant change - internally and externally. By striving to meet the ever changing IT market, companies can improve their business processes and build stronger relationships with customers and partners.

If there's an industry that changes faster and more continuously than the information technology business, we don't know about it. That's why we often say things like: "While our core values are etched in stone, our practices are etched in Jell-O." Problem is, change itself drives some people nuts; this business isn't for everyone.

We can't alter human nature, but most of us who've been around for a while have grown to both accept and embrace the notion of constant change. It's so easy to get cozy and comfortable with a set way of doing things. Because we have the flexible mindset of accepting and even exploiting change, we're now a leader in technology management services.

One of the most important signs of the health and vitality of a company is how we see our colleagues pushing, questioning and championing new ideas and concepts. Make no mistake - this is the essence of strategy. There will always be a home for good ideas - regardless of their origin. Our challenge is to keep open minds - to effectively consider something that just might help us serve our clients better.

In our continuing struggle to evolve faster and smarter than our competitors, there's only one pitfall we must be careful to avoid; complacency. Complacency kills organizations. We're all tempted to become a little complacent after each major victory.

But we can't allow being good to keep us from being the best. We must always remember that tomorrow there's going to be somebody else out there who's hungry for our share of the pie. So remember: in the jungle, the tiger starves last.
